Important Info In This Week's Thursday Folders

Permission slips for our field trip and book order forms are in this week's Thursday folders.  Please be sure to get them from your students.  

Our field trip is next week, so please return the permission slip as soon as possible. 

The book orders are due on March 5th.  Please be sure to put all orders in a sealed envelope with your child's name printed on it.

Remember that there is not school next Monday!

Animal Reports

            When we come back from vacation, the second grade will be starting animal reports.  This is a project that is going to be done in class.  Please send a $3 donation to cover the cost of supplies, it would be greatly appreciated.

            Part of our animal report project will include learning how to use materials and resources at the library.  We will be visiting the Gilroy Library on Friday, March 6^th.  We would love to have some parents walk with us to the library.  We could also use a parent willing to drive our lunches over.  If you can help, please e-mail me as soon as you can.

A Message From Parent Club

Dear GPS families, Valentine's Day is coming and we have a special treat! Available starting Monday, February 9th, Valentines Grams will be for sale. $1 will pay for a bag full of goodies for your special one. Make others' day just as special by purchasing for a friend or two. Stop by our Valentine Gram table before or after school to make your purchase. See you there!

Valentine's Day Party

·      The party will be on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13^th

·      We’re trying to reinforce the school health policy, so please try to bring fun, small toys if you choose to add something to cards. 

·      The party will be held after lunch, from 12:35-1:05

·      If you choose to send in cards, please include one for everyone in our class of 30.  We don’t want any hurt feelings!

·      We sill be decorating bags in the morning, so feel free to send your own school/ supplies if you would like to add your own flair.  The teachers will be providing colored pencils, markers, and bags.

·      Because the party time is so short, and immediately following lunch, we will not be asking for food for the whole class.  Please do no send food to school. Because of the many food allergies we have in the class, any food brought in will not be passed out. Though we won’t be handing out food, they will have plenty of time for fun! They will get time to exchange cards, do some whole class activities, and play before cleaning up to head home.

·      February 13^th is a minimum day, and there will be no school the following week.
