What we are learning in Writing

We are hard at work practicing our writing skills. So far we have covered narrative writing and expository writing. Our next type of paragraph will be opinion writing. This is what a good second grade paragraph should include:

• minimum of 8 sentences that are all on topic
• a topic sentence
• three detail sentences each with a supporting sentence.
• a conclusion sentence.
• correct capitalization
• correct punctuation
• readable writing
• second grade appropriate spelling
